Responsible for In-process, 1stPiece, Final and First Article Inspection of machined parts for compliance/conformance with drawings and specifications using CMM, comparator, hand gages, surface plate and various other inspection methods.

Responsibilities

  • Follows Quality Procedures for In-Process and Final Parts Inspection Process to ensure verification of specifications and dimensions of all parts prior to shipment (internal or external).
  • Utilizes a Coordinate Measurement Machine to verify that the parts inspected are within the specified parameters.  May also use surface plate, comparator or other dimensional metrology equipment.
  • Selects measurement techniques to maximize repeatability and reproducibility of measured parameters.
  • Identifies out-of-tolerance conditions and reports them via a Corrective Action Report.

Qualifications:

Quality Inspection Supervisor

1st Shift

Leads a team responsible for inspection and testing of product including incoming receipt, in-process inspection, and final inspection/release. Responsible for all quality records and the quality level of the product shipped. Coordinates the work load of inspectors to leverage capabilities and ensure results.

  • Interprets Engineering drawings, Blueprints, and other product requirements and confers with Quality Manager, or Engineering staff to determine quality, customer specifications, and reliability standards.
  • Trains and provides guidance to inspectors and apprentices on execution of their duties.
  • Trains and provides guidance to CMM operators and programmers.
  • Oversees the preparation of all required paperwork needed for the shipment of product.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate, or indicate deviations from, existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.
  • Assists in dispositioning of parts.
  • Manages and directs assigned inspectors, and technicians.
  • Oversees proper operation of all equipment in the department that is used to verify conformance to requirements.
  • Regularly reviews and follows all Customer, AS9100 ISO documentation relating to the quality system.
  • Manages time and attendance of assigned staff.
  • Holds team members accountable to quality of work and expected professional behavior.

QUALIFICATIONS
