Quality Manager

The Quality Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the DRT Quality Management System in compliance with AS 9100, ISO 9001 requirements as well as provide quality leadership to drive continuous quality improvement in support of DRT’s strategic objectives with regard to Customers Satisfaction and overall business performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Quality System in compliance with AS 9100, ISO 9001 requirements
  • Manage the following functions: Final Inspection, incoming inspection, calibration, internal audits, customer audits, surveillance and re-registration audits
  • Meet all customer quality requirements
  • Manage cost of quality – all aspects – prevention, appraisal, internal failure, and external failure
  • Directly supervises all employees in the Inspection and Quality Assurance departments
  • Keep the company at leading-edge on quality measurement systems, data acquisition, data retention, and throughput
  • Provide technical support for GD&T and SPC implementation and interpretation
  • Support all functions within DRT Power Systems, and the related quality objectives
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing employees and their respective work; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining, and firing employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems
  • Drive and manage FAI process on new program’s which is critical to the facility’s success
  • Develop customer relationships based on dependability and reliability.
  • The successful candidate will need to be able to perform a variety of tasks, and be very hands-on and engaging with our employees and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Lead auditor qualifications preferred
  • CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and/or CSSBB (Certified Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred
  • Prefer direct experience working with major industry leaders in aerospace
  • Candidate has obtained or is willing to obtain DSQR certification with customers required

Specific duties:

Quality Inspection Supervisor – 1st Shift

Leads a team responsible for inspection and testing of product including incoming receipt, in-process inspection, and final inspection/release. Collects, compiles, and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Coordinates all activities associated with quality release of product. Responsible for all quality records and the quality level of the product shipped. Coordinates the work load of inspectors to leverage capabilities and ensure results.

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and other product requirements and confers with Quality Manager, or engineering staff to determine quality, customer specifications, and reliability standards

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years minimum related experience OR Bachelor's degree with 4 years minimum related experience

  • Working knowledge of GD&T, AS9102 FAIRs, and inspection measuring equipment.
  • Previous experience as Quality Inspector or DQR in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills. Proven track record of successful leadership, situation analysis, detail-orientation, and best safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
