Accounting & Purchasing Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Processes purchase requisition to purchase order by data entry via purchase order fields and all vendor receipts through the ERP system.
  • Maintain data integrity via computer skills for all Purchasing-related data including cost, safety stock, lead-times, minimums, multiples, supplier data and other purchasing ERP fields.
  • Buys a variety of goods and services through negotiation, vendor management, value analysis and the development of vendor/company relationships.
  • Develops new vendors through vendor research, evaluation and performance. Coordinates vendor approval with Quality control and existing processes and procedures.
  • Orders goods and services through the ERP purchase order system by quote, bid or MRP system; orders product to meet company specifications.
  • Expedites the delivery of purchase orders with the supply base.
  • Manages performance issues including NCMRs with supply base.
  • Approves invoices for payment.
  • Communicates with various departments to maintain a constant flow of materials and processes.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings and forward to the appropriate supplier for outside sub-contract materials and services.
  • Performs planner duties in monitoring, evaluating and crating the master schedule report.
  • Reviews reports for commodity management and product/vendor analysis.
  • Coordinates information from engineering, purchasing, production control and manufacturing to support the master schedule.
  • Continually evaluates data, reviews purchased item history via part number/commodity analysis.
  • Maintains the ERP system with current information and communicates all relevant
  • Perform routine cost accounting functions – monitor Standard Cost changes, etc.
  • Analyze trends, production family, and specific product levels
  • Provide oversight of production variance follow-up
  • Review accuracy/appropriateness of valuation of various inventories
  • Complete special projects as requested
  • Interact with Leadership team members as needed.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with General Ledger activities
  • Update cash flow projections as needed and at least weekly
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation
  • Responsibility for establishing and maintaining product standard costs
  • Responsibility for accurately reporting and fully analyzing manufacturing variances from standard
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries related to Cycle Count Clearing, Freight Accruals etc.
  • Responsibility for annual standard cost roll
  • Oversight of facility cycle count programs, inventory reports by location and inventory turn calculations
  • Assist Marketing and Sales with New Product Development and Promotional costing
  • Monitor local facility expenses compared to plan and latest expectations
  • Participate in annual budget process and quarterly revisions to plan
  • Assist in annual audit process with regard to all inventory costing issues
  • Management of Capital projects within the operating facilities
  • Work with production staff to improve efficiencies and reduce variances
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Solid Cost Accounting knowledge and experience
  • Ability to not only produce the numbers to understand what is driving the numbers and to suggest improvements going forward

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner and or Accountant
  • CPM and LCS Certification preferred
  • Experience with vendor negotiations
  • Strong computer and Excel knowledge and experience required
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required, BAAN knowledge preferred

We are currently seeking an individual who is responsible for programming in 3, 4 & 5 axes – in vertical, horizontal, and precision machining centers. Candidates need to be able to analyze drawings, sketches and design data of parts, as well as design tooling and fixtures. Need to be able to writes instructions, and generate tool sheets and in-process inspection sheets to guide setup and operation of machines. Work with machinists to develop work holding and proving out programs.

Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with three, four and five axis milling
  • Previous tool and die experience preferred
  • Experience UGNX Version 11.0 preferred
  • 4-6 years of manufacturing experience in related area
  • Ability to multi-task
