CNC Programmer | Winsted, Connecticut

We are currently seeking an individual who is responsible for programming in 3, 4 & 5 axes – in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Candidates need to be able to analyze drawings, sketches and design data of parts, as well as design tooling and fixtures. Need to be able to writes instructions, and generate tool sheets and in-process inspection sheets to guide setup and operation of machines. Work with machinists to develop work holding and proving out programs.

Qualifications:

  • Must have five years’ experience in machining.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must be familiar with three, four and five axis milling
  • Aerospace experience preferred
  • Must have experience and be proficient with creating and editing 3d models.
  • Experience with MasterCAM Version X6 and UGNX Version 8.5 preferred
  • Candidate should have experience selecting tools appropriate for the process.

Final Inspector- Surface Plate | Dayton, OH

Responsible for final inspection of tooling for compliance with drawings and specifications.

Essential duties:

  • Follows QP-21 Final Parts Inspection Process to ensure verification of specifications and dimensions of all parts prior to shipment (internal or external).
  • Obtains necessary fixtures and gauging to verify that the parts are within the specified parameters.
  • Selects gauging to maximize repeatability and reproducibility of the measured parameters.
  • Identifies out-of-tolerance conditions and reports them via a nonconforming material report (NCMR).

Requires an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential duties include:

  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trail run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Fits and assemblies parts into complete assembly.
  • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
  • Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts.
  • Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

This position is responsible for fitting and assembling components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using had tools and power tools.

  • Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
